The museum was formed as a temporary exhibition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Market Garden but due to it’s overwhelming success it was made permanent, expanded and relocated to it’s present location in Best. It’s on the site of American Airborne landings, and seems to be a converted army base. The setting is enormous. It takes around 2 hours to just have a quick look at everything. You could spend hours. The exhibitions are split up into large hangars connected by industrial sized roads. The tank tracks etched onto the surface give it an even more military feel even before you turn the corner and are faced with the outdoor exhibits.
