A maverick pilot agrees to a charter flight involving taking a missionary to a remote island. When her radio throws them off course and two stowaway children are discovered it appears that things can’t go much worse.
Well, of course they do. The island they crash land onto houses two Japanese soldiers unaware that the Second World War has ended.
When the conflicts are resolved, it’s decided to attempt to turn the ruined plane into a sea going boat.
It’s a marvellous film, designed for children, but enjoyable enough for all. Gould and Bujold are on great form throughout.
