The Airborne Museum is housed in the Hartenstein Hotel. There could be no better place really as it was the Airborne Division’s headquarters during the operation.
It’s set in a park, and the whole neighbourhood is very well to do. The main road is just outside, and is very busy with both motorized and pedalled traffic. Unlike Ginkel Heath earlier in the day, it was impossible to imagine the carnage that took place where we were stood.
It’s an excellent museum, more in the traditional sense than the huge collections of Overloon and Best.
It has it’s own website which can be accessed here: http://www.airbornemuseum.com/
