Director: James Goldstone

Starring: Robert Shaw, James Earl Jones, Genevieve Bujold, Peter Boyle, Beau Bridges, Angelica Huston.

A good old-fashioned pirate tale set in the Caribbean. It starts out with a daring rescue of a condemned friend, and soon sees the pirates fighting for a good cause when a noblewoman (Genevieve Bujold) asks for their help in rescuing her father from a local political tyrant.

Its far from high brow, and the script is fairly shallow, but it’s very enjoyable. I don’t think any of the cast would rank it highly in their careers, but on a rainy Saturday afternoon, it’s perfect.
