This is the largest Commonwealth burial site of the Second World War. Most of the graves are airmen who died over Germany, men who died during the crossing of the Rhine in 1945 and casualties from the fierce fighting in Reichswald Forest itself. It’s situated just south of the town of Kleve, and is in a peaceful, beautiful location deep in the forest.

There is little connection with the Market Garden operation, but with it being just over the border, it seemed too good an opportunity to miss.
