Oosterbeek is the suburb of Arnhem that houses the Hartenstein Airborne Museum. The whole area was the scene of fierce fighting, and as such, there is a wealth of things to see relating to the hostilities. Once again, time was pressing on. The sun was low in the west as we parked near the Arnhem-Oosterbeek war cemetery and we still had Arnhem itself to visit. We had to make a decision, and the famous Tafelberg Hotel and all the sights in the vicinity couldn’t be seen. |
