Neuville St. Vaast

The view in the cemetery. The peppering of Jewish graves stands out among the crosses. There are at least four in this shot alone. Hitler gave the order for the headstones to be removed, but lockily this desecration was never carried out.
This is the most sombre cemetery I've yet visited. The stark metal crosses standing in the field with no chapel, monumnet or shelter give a true sense of scale. Especially when you consider that most crosses have four names oni them.
