Langemarck is a town to the north of Ypres. It is perhaps best known as the centre of Adolf Hitler’s tour paying his respects to the fallen German youth of the Great War. He claimed to have served in the area and the resultant headlines gained a great deal of propaganda on the German newsreels. The German cemetery in the town is the only one in the Ypres area.
