A young woman is rescued from a river by the leader of a hippy commune called Undersky. It’s more than a hippy commune and more of a back to the 1600s social experiment. They are totally cut off and reliant on their farming skills to survive.
The arrival of the mysterious woman (Bujold) coincides with a downturn in fortunes and suspicion is roused against the outsider.
It’s a weird, dreamy tale, beautifully shot and on a stunning location. It’s arthouse style isn’t top of my list, but it was an enjoyable if at times perplexing experience.
