Second World War Resistance memorial.

Two French resistance workers, Pierre Marchant and Lucien Olivier were driving a truck full of armaments near Lille. Some SS troops discovered them and placed them on a train. What happened will probably never be known, but their dead bodies were found on the railway verge near this site. The memorial was erected in 1969, and then restored and unveiled in the presence of Mr Marchant's brother and Mr Olivier's sister in 2004.
