After the long haul to Germany the day before, we started another day of many stops at the towns of Elst and Heteren. They lie just to the south of Arnhem. Elst is a busy town, with a very nice central area. We made a visit to the town hall to see the display dedicated to the Polish forces who tried so hard to liberate the town. There are two memorials in a small garden just off the main street.

Heteren (or what we saw of it) is a much more residential area. There is a private museum there, but it is only open in the afternoon and we were there too early. It has a website, so best to check before you go if you plan to visit.
