Two dysfunctional twin brothers are closer than most. One is a confident, outgoing seducer, the other is a shy introvert. When the outgoing brother is bored with a women, he lets his brother take her over, without the consent of his former lover.
The brothers are the top gynaecologists of their time and their lives begin to unravel when the brother meets and falls for a beautiful actress before his brother. Will he be willing to share her as his brother has so many times? Will he be able to cope with his brother becoming closer to his new love?
This is a Cronenberg film, so you can probably guess the answer, but the journey there is fascinating and quite gruesome.
Not one for the faint hearted. Cronenberg and gynaecology equals Mary Whitehouse’s worst nightmare.
