We would be driving through this tiny village a fair few times over the next week or so, but today we pulled in at the rather impressive memorial off the main road. Cherain lies between Gouvy and the E25 motorway to Liege. During the Ardennes Offensive, Cherain along with Lierneux and Sterpigny were defended by an array of American regiments. The fighting was fierce and many men lost their lives in the area. |
