This memorial is to the men of the area who lost their lives in the Great War.
It was financed by public donations and was unveiled on the 25th May 1923 by the earl of derby.
The main inscription reads:
"To the enduring memory of those who gave their lives. Also those who fought for God and Country in the Great war 1914-1919"
