The Manchester Post Office Peace Memorial.
This memorial to the Post Office workers who died during the First World War was sculpted by John Ashton Floyd and unveiled in 1929. It has previously been situated in two offices which subsequently closed. It moved to its present prominent location on Oldham Road in the mid 1990s.
The inscription on the front reads:
Strive for enduring peace.
1914-18 1939-45
To the memory of the men of Manchester Post Office who gave their lives for their country.
